The Regional Director for Labour and Secretary General of the Eurodyssee programme presented today the strategy of the programme of the Assembly of European Regions, Eurodyssee, which Carlos César has presided over since 2007, before more than 500 representatives from 292 European regions in Belfort, France.
Stressing the important role of played by the Eurodyssee programme, which has registered an increase of 50% in number of participating regions as well as an increase of 20% in the number of young trainees over the last three years, Rui Bettencourt mentioned the need to focus policies for youth employment.
On the occasion, the Regional Director also urged to the European regions to take into consideration, at a level of regional governance closer to the people's concerns, the employment policies, youth, and the effectiveness of these policies under a regional and European framework.
In the context of the General Assembly of the European Regions a collaboration protocol was signed with Quebec which was supported by the Azores.
