The Regional Health Service has stipulated new prices for vaccines against tropical diseases in accordance to the guidelines stipulated at a national level. 

This legislation comprises the vaccines against typhoid fever, yellow fever, rabies and Japanese encephalitis as well as the tetravalent meningococcal vaccine, which are usually required for people wishing to travel to certain countries.

Following the entry into force of the International Health Regulations, the legislation also stipulates the amount of the health fees to be charged by regional health delegations, eliminating some procedures and establishing new ones. 

The cost of these procedures is included in the annex to the ordinance sent on Thursday for publication, being identical to the amount stipulated at a national level.

The volunteers participating in international cooperation missions for development, education for development, humanitarian aid and emergency procedures developed by Non-Governmental Organisations in region where these diseases are endemic or whose vaccination is mandatory for entry into the destination country are exempt from payment.

Under the terms of the regulations, the issuance of medical certificates of illness and disability that prevents voters from being members of polling stations, the confirmation of death and the issuance of the respective certificate, the disability assessment for disabled people to access tax benefits and the issuance of the isolation certificate for non-graduate students, in the case of infectious disease affecting a person with whom they live, are also exempt from payment.
