According to the order issued by the Regional Secretary for Education and Culture (SREC), the deadline for the submission of applications for the support measures granted in 2015 to recreational societies philharmonic bands and the safeguarding of whaling heritage runs from today until March 16.

The support measures cover the inventorying, recovery, conservation and promotion of classified regional whaling heritage given its historical, cultural and tourist interest as well as the Regional Support Programmes for Recreational Societies and Philharmonic Bands of the Azores (SOREFIL).

As stated in the order issued by SREC, the entities applying to SOREFIL should be headquartered in the Azores and have their fiscal situation updated at the Social Security and Tax Services and at the entity that will grant this subsidy.

Moreover, the orders on SOREFIL also indicate that the financial support amounts to 150 thousand Euros in 2015, whilst the estimated amount for 2016 will be set at 200 thousand Euros.

In accordance with the documents published today in the Official Journal, the period for the submission of applications to the same support schemes for 2016 will run from June 1 to August 30, 2015.
