António Dacosta Painting Prize 2016 awarded to Maria José Cavaco

The António Dacosta Painting Prize 2016 was awarded to the work "Summer Daydreaming" by Maria José Berquó de Aguiar Rodrigues Cavaco and the work "Horizon I and II" by Maria João Tavares Costa received an honourable mention. The jury's decision was revealed today by the Regional Secretariat for Education and Culture.

The jury, consisting of art critic José Luís Porfírio, Duarte Melo, director of Carlos Machado Museum, and artist João Urbano Melo Resendes, has decided to award the prize in the Painting category without distinguishing a specific area.

The second edition of António Dacosta Painting Prize featured the participation of 11 artists, who presented a total of 16 works in competition.
