Angra do Heroísmo Library presents exhibition "Natália Correia: O Poeta como Cidadão"
The Regional Directorate for Culture, through the Angra do Heroísmo Public library and Regional Archive, opens the exhibition “Natália Correia: O Poeta como Cidadão” (Natália Correia: The Poet as Citizen) on Monday. This event is part of the regional celebrations of Natália Correia's birth anniversary (90 years) and her death anniversary (20 years).
This itinerant exhibition addresses the side of Natália Correia as a poet who took an active role in society and her engagement in the defence of social and political causes. The exhibition was designed to evoke this Azorean poet and her action among younger generations, particularly among students from Azorean secondary schools.
In this context, the exhibition will be open on Monday at 6 PM; it is mounted on stands with easy assembly and disassembly in order to facilitate the travelling of this exhibition to other places.
This year, the Angra do Heroísmo Public Library and Regional Archives has already celebrated the birth of Natália Correia in its Children and Youth Section.
Over the last months and until the end of the year, the Library has been issuing a series of newsletters on the Internet, "Evocando Natália" (Evoking Natália); each one is dedicated to a title by the author.
The exhibition “Natália Correia: O Poeta como Cidadão” will be open to the public at the Angra do Heroísmo Public Library and Regional Archives at the Reserved Book Section of the Bettencourt Palace until October 29.
