The Whaling Museum in Lajes do Pico will organise a meeting of the Advisory Committee for Regional Whaling Heritage next Tuesday, June 26, at 8:30 PM. The event will be attended by the Regional Director for Culture, Jorge Paulus Bruno.

The meeting, which will be also attended by representatives of regional public and private entities in the areas of whaling heritage conservation, management and use, will address the analysis and assessment of application for the allocation of financial support by the Regional Directorate for Culture.

Being a symbolic moment that evokes regional whaling memory, this meeting is also an event that brings the Azorean people closer to this common historical heritage.

This advisory body has provided an important contribution to the renewal and preservation of regional whaling heritage that has been carried out by the Government over the last decade.
