The Government of the Azores begins Tuesday the statutory visit to Graciosa Island, during which Vasco Cordeiro will open the remodelling works of the Agricultural Cooperative and Winery and the Home Care Services of "Santa Casa da Misericórdia" of Santa Cruz, among other events. He will also preside over the presentation of the preliminary construction project of the new air terminal building.
 
In the context of this visit, the President of the Government will open the Graciosa Tourism Office, the water supply system in Fonte do Pontal and the Jorge Nunes agricultural road. Moreover, Vasco Cordeiro will preside over the support granting ceremony of support for the renewal of degraded housing that will benefit more than forty families on the island of Graciosa.
 
The members of the Regional Government will available to receive the local citizens who wish to pose their questions directly. This initiative aims to reinforce the policy of proximity to the Azorean population and has implemented since the beginning of the previous terms.
 
On Tuesday, after arriving on the island in the late morning, Vasco Cordeiro visits the ongoing works of the new Graciosa Aerodrome Control Tower and then chairs the presentation of the preliminary construction project of new air terminal building.
 
During the afternoon, the President of the Government presides over the opening of the Graciosa Tourism Office. The first day of the statutory visit ends with the meeting between the Regional Government and the Island Council.
 
The President of the Government begins the second day of the visit with the opening of the remodelling works of the Home Care Services of the "Santa Casa da Misericórdia" of Santa Cruz. The investment falls within the Government's investment in the strengthening of the regional network of social infrastructures. In the early afternoon, he will preside over the opening of the Water Supply System of Fonte do Pontal and the Jorge Nunes Agricultural Road; both are located in the Agricultural Planning Perimeter of Santa Cruz/Guadalupe.
 
Vasco Cordeiro will chair the granting ceremony of support for the renewal of degraded housing, which will benefit more than a hundred people, and the opening of the remodelling works of Graciosa Winery and Cooperative. The day ends with the meeting of the council of the Council of the Government.
 
As usual, the programme of the statutory visit also includes visits by members of the Government to various ongoing investments, such as the protection and stabilisation of the coastal area of Barra or the construction of the new slaughterhouse, in addition to meetings with various local entities.
 
The signing of the contract work for the redevelopment and expansion of the Regional Road no.1-2 in Terreiros as well as the delivery of diplomas to the trainees who completed the Fisher, Local Fishing Vessel Skipper and Fishing Vessel Skipper courses are other initiatives to take place under the statutory visit to this island. Moreover, there is a collaboration protocol to be signed between the Regional Directorate for Agriculture and Agricultural Associations of Graciosa and a planned visit to the Praia Islet Natural Reserve.
