From midnight on Friday, the prices of unleaded gasoline marketed in the Azores are going to increase a cent per litre, while the diesel fuel will increase two cents per litre.

The new prices to practice in the archipelago start to be, for each litre, of 1,35 euros for the 95-octane unleaded gasoline, 1,39 euros for the 98-octane unleaded gasoline and of 1,02 euros for the diesel fuel.

The Regional Government justifies this adjustment with the “variations and changeability of the oil price in the international market”, anticipating however to be his “constant concern” to guarantee that the prices are as low as possible, in a way of reducing the impact that the fuels have in the life cost of the populations and in the economy in general.

He remembers, by the way, that in spite of the added costs with the transport and storage of the fuels in the Azores, in the Region all the fuels have substantially inferior prices to the ones practiced in the Mainland.

The prices of the diesel fuel for fishing, of the domestic gas, of the industrial fuel, of the road diesel fuel and of the agricultural diesel fuel are lower in the Azores than in the Mainland, respectively, 58,8%, 46,7%, 32,6%, 38,9% and 57,2%.
