The Government of the Azores will support in 18,270 Euros the organisation of two international regattas that will connect two French cities and the Horta port on Faial Island this summer.
The support to these two nautical events was awarded by the Regional Directorate for Sports, under a contract programme for sports development celebrated with the Clube Naval da Horta (Horta Nautical Club).
Classified as events of "regional public interest," these events are the regattas Les Sables d'Olonne-Horta-Les Sables D'Olonne, which has left France last Sunday, and the 2009 Atlantique Pogo Vannes-Horta-Vannes, which also left France on July 25 heading to the Azores.
Under the contract programme, published in the Official Journal today, the Clube Naval da Horta is required to ensure the participation of a minimum of 29 people from abroad, including sailors, leaders and judges.
