The president of the Government of the Azores reaffirmed today that there are no reasons for the current strike in SATA and that “the leaders of the SITAVA don’t know what else to say to justify a strike that has no justification”.
Carlos César remembered that all the promises were explained by himself before the workers of SATA and it is with them that he wants to speak, “because they respect their job, they want their job, they value their company. They aren’t trade unionists of opportunity, nor paid by political parties or of syndic directions from outside the Region”.
He particularly added that “this subject isn’t a new subject. It was already decided in 2005, with a decree approved by unanimity in the regional parliament, where there are, in writing, defined the terms of eventual segmentation of the company and the safeguard of the workers’ rights”.
