Azores invested 86 million euros in the management of hydro resources since 2000
The local and regional administrations of the Azores invested 86 million euros in the management of hydro-resources in the past eight years. Citing a report published by an independent study group, the Regional Government of the Azores concluded that the “implementation of the Regional Water Plan” (PRA) has “evolved satisfactorily” in the past eight years.
Having adopted an integrated multidisciplinary approach to the management of hydro resources, the Government of Carlos César emphasised its commitment to the identification and delimitation of all water springs in the Azores, a project that was undertaken in collaboration with the University of the Azores.
The President also reiterated the availability of the Regional Government to provide financial and technical support whenever such assistance is requested by the private and public entities of the hydro sector.
