Carlos César says that the Government is carrying out works of considerable strategic dimension on Pico
Carlos César assured on Thursday morning that the Regional Government has clearly stated its intentions regarding the future Madalena Healthcare Centre, particularly the services that might operate there.
The President of the Government answered the questions raised by an MP of the opposition and added that “favouring a set of services that comprise the performance of various medical procedures at that infrastructure, including deliveries” is the major goal for the new healthcare centre.
Carlos César also said that the Government is working to provide the future healthcare centre with the necessary human resources to fulfil this plan and, for that reason, several partnerships will established with the Horta Hospital as well as with hospital and health professional from Mainland Portugal.
Reminding that the construction of the Fuel Park of the Pico airport is ongoing - and not postponed as it was mentioned – the President of the Regional Government also stressed regarding the installation of instrument landing system (ILS), the Government has acquired all the necessary equipment. The beginning of works is only dependent on the resolution of a question raised by one of the competitors.
Moreover, the Government’s commitment focuses on improving the provision of healthcare on that island, “we are carrying out on Pico a works of considerable strategic dimension in terms of accessibility, airport and port restructuring, which will drastically change – and it is already doing it – the accessibility system to that island and, thus, enhancing their potential of economic and social growth.
Carlos César assured that “the Government is proud of work that is being carried out on Pico as well as of work that seeks to develop in order to benefit all Azoreans on all islands.”
