The Government of the Azores, through the Vice-Presidency, supports the participation of six Azorean companies at the "Alimentaria 2016" fair that place between April 25 and 28 in the city of Barcelona.
 
This participation is promoted by the Society for Business Development of the Azores (SDEA) in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Azores. It aims to promote agri-food products produced in the Region, with special emphasis on those with greater export capacity, and actively contribute to increase exports.

The Azorean companies participating in "Alimentaria 2016" have their own stand and represent the major regional production sectors: wines and liqueurs, meat and dairy products, honey and jams, and preserves. During the fair, there will be product tastings and several business meetings.

Each company has its own space located in an area that can be a venue for than 10,000 meeting between exhibitors and international customers, being also a major showcase of trends in the food industry.

For this edition of the fair, considered an important international business centre for professionals in the food and culinary industry, the organisation of "Alimentaria 2016" guarantees the representation of more than 50 countries.
