Educational Project for active citizenship in the economy has already involved 1,900 young people in the Azores

The educational project implemented a year ago by the Vice-Presidency of the Government, through the Regional Inspectorate of Economic Activities (IRAE), aims to raise the awareness of young people for the importance of combating shadow economy has already covered 1,867 students from several Azorean schools.
 
Overall, 187 sessions were held in partnership with Tetrapi and with the active collaboration of schools boards and teachers. There were 40 plenary sessions, 30 minutes each, and 147 in classroom context, 90 minutes each.
 
The "Invoice Hunting" project, which started in January 2016, includes a presentation session through an interactive dialogue between students, the characters "‘Zé and Maria" and the trainers conducting the project, in addition to another two sessions in classroom context.
 
Through theoretical and practical aspects, the projects addresses and further develops concepts like the official economy, the Euro zone, the exchange rate, the shadow economy, the market and the virtual market, invoices and receipts, the powers of IRAE and its intervention in society.
 
During this first year, the "Invoice Hunters" brigade went to several school establishments on São Miguel, Terceira and Faial. It exceeded the number of originally planned actions as well as the number of students covered by this educational project, which will be extended to the entire Region.
