The Pro-Emprego operation programme has approved more than 510 actions for employment and qualification of youngsters, employees and unemployed for 2009/2010. There will be 397 new courses addressed at 7,296 trainees, which corresponds to a total of 3,080,869 training hours.
With these latest one, whose funding is of 18,002,869.92 Euros, the approvals that have taken place until now have reached the amount of 82,031,760 Euros, being the commitment rate of the PRO-EMPREGO programme one of the highest of European programmes, one year after the first applications.
These actions are addressed at 4,216 youngsters at initial training, 1,800 unemployed and at 1,280 employees from private companies.
The success of this programme, which is demonstrated by the volume of applications for Pro-Emprego, is related to a wide range of actions provided by it, from initial training courses at Vocational Training Schools to qualification programmes for the unemployed, awarding double certification (9th form and a professional certificate). The Pro-Emprego also provides programmes under the Social Labour Market, as well as programmes comprising the following areas: entrepreneurship, IT learning and transition strategies for the labour market.
Furthermore, this success is related to the fact that the application and project management system is entirely online and to the influence of the partnership established with more than 50 training entities.
Meanwhile, the applications for the actions on Business Strategic Consulting have been opened, and the first advisers have already been certified in an unprecedented action in Portugal, which aims to provide companies with tools to screen their difficulties, opportunities, challenges and new answers, thus adapting Azorean companies to the new times.
