Regional Director for Employment and Vocational Training present in the Forum

Forum of the professions moves 2.500 young students

Nearly 2.500 students interested in frequenting the professional teaching and the courses PROFIJ of the regular teaching in the next academic year are going to participate in the Forum of the Professions, an initiative of the Regional Directorate for Employment and Vocational Training that occurs today and on Wednesday in Praia da Vitória.

As the regional director, Rui Bettencourt, said to the journalists, the offer includes “more than 200 courses”, in varied areas, compiled in a publication launched in this first day of the Forum, entitled “Guide of Professional Ways 2008/2009”.

In a note of opening of the publication, the president of the Government, Carlos César, points out the preoccupation that there was, in this decade, by part of the executive, in “building, with strategic vision and with quality parameters, devices of professional qualification that were supplying a fan of suggestions and of answers to the wishes of the young Azoreans”.

In this context, the professional choices will help to structure the individual projects of life, it adds the chief of the executive, in a way that, “as good professional and in a quality job”, each one will live, “in this still nascent century, in a modern and dynamic Region”, that the young people will be able “to help building with professionalism pledge and will power”.

This is “a document that is going to be sent to 10 thousand young people and enterprises of the Azores”, it announced Rui Bettencourt, “indicating the Professional Schools, the courses that are going to open and an explanation, for each profession, with curriculum and professional exits of the respective course”.

The forum disposes of an exhibition of offer of courses of the several schools, chosen with a criterion that privileges “the employment”, fruit of “prior contacts with the enterprises that indicate us the real needs of the labour market in the archipelago”, it pointed out the regional director.

The Forum of the Professions has two conferences, namely “The Incitement of the Entrepreneurship” and “A new Glance on the Careers”, besides being time, still, for the signature of contracts of sponsorship and for the delivery of prizes of the Internal Contest of Professions.
