The Regional Secretary for Tourism and Transport will be received in audience by the Minister of Economy of the Portuguese Government, next Wednesday, September 25.

During a interview on RTP-Açores "Atlântida" programme, Vítor Fraga revealed that "after several requests for an audience with the Minister of Economy, we were finally informed that we will be received in audience by the Minister next Wednesday, September 25."

Meanwhile, the Regional Secretary expects that this audience, which will address the proposed revision of public service obligations for air transport "may be a sign towards a permanent solution for the problem of accessibility and the development of the proposal presented by the Government of the Azores a year and four months ago. The implementation of this proposal may contribute to the reduction of one the factors that hinder the tourism development of the Azores: seasonality."

"We believe that our proposal will contribute to the increase of tourism flows to the Azores and improve the mobility of the Azoreans to Mainland Portugal," concluded Vítor Fraga.
