The Regional Secretary for Tourism and Transport revealed in Angra do Heroísmo that the tourism operations to be conducted by IdeaStation, which will link the United States to the Third during the IATA winter, reaches markets Friday, September 18. The first flight connection is scheduled to start on December 7 and will continue until May 5.

"There will be 22 flight connections that will bring nearly three thousand tourists, which represents an estimate of 21 thousand overnight stays," stated Vítor Fraga at the end of a meeting with representatives of the tour operator.

For the Regional Secretary, this operation, announced on August 18, is "another piece in building one of the structural pillars to improve accessibility to the island of Terceira."

Asked by journalists, Victor Fraga said that, in time, the Government will reveal the details of the operation between Terceira and Spain, also announced on August 18.

The Secretary for Tourism stressed that "the choice of markets for both operations is based on the influx of tourists to the island of Terceira," noting that "the Spanish market and the US market are precisely the two foreign markets that registered the largest number of tourists who visited Terceira in 2014.

"What we should do is to secure a return on all the efforts that have been undertaken and, in this context, both markets are already consolidated in terms of tourism flows to Terceira," said Vítor Fraga.
