The Regional Secretary for Social Solidarity, through the Regional Directorate for Housing, has awarded five contract works by direct agreement with regional companies for the renewal of degraded houses on the islands of São Miguel and Terceira, a global investment over 140 thousand Euros.

The houses subject to these interventions are owned by the Autonomous Region of the Azores; three of which are located in the municipality of Ponta Delgada on São Miguel Island and the remaining two are located in the municipality of Angra do Heroísmo on Terceira Island.

The three contract works in Ponta Delgada were awarded to the companies Messias Braga Soc. Unipessoal, Lda, Civil Açores-Edificações Urbanas, Lda and José de Simas Moniz & Filhos, Lda. In turn the works for the renewal of the two houses in Angra do Heroísmo were awarded to the company Mário Gabriel de Brum Pereira.

With these contract works, which are included in the Regional Public Works Charter (CROP), the Government of the Azores aims to contribute to the preservation and renovation of the regional housing stock by providing families with better housing conditions.
