The order specifying the Regional Supplement to Support Available Household Income, an additional support of up to 150 Euros per month for parents with children under 12 or, regardless of age, with a disability or chronic illness, was published today in the Official Journal. 

The document states that this support is intended for the situations of employed and self-employed workers, who are absent from work due to the suspension of teaching and non-teaching activities in schools or the closure of early childhood and disability centres, as provided for, respectively, in articles 23 and 24 of Decree-Law no.10-A/2020 of March 13.

This support, which can reach 150 Euros per month, is proportional to the period in which one of the spouses is absent for justified reasons, up to the maximum of the basic remuneration declared for this purpose, provided that it has been reduced. 

The Regional Supplement is paid by a monthly bank transfer by the Institute for Social Security of the Azores. It does not require the submission of a specific request, being automatically checked by the form submitted by the employer to the Social Security.
