A Resolution published today in the Official Journal appoints the members of the new Administration Board of the Espírito Santo Hospital of Terceira Island, chaired by Paula Moniz.

The board is also includes the following members: Lúcia Crisóstomo, as Clinical Director, José Pedro Pires, as Director of Nursing, and Ana Laranjeira.

Paula Elsa de Carvalho Moniz holds a degree in Finance from the Higher Institute of Economic and Financial Sciences of the Technical University of Lisbon and a Postgraduate degree in European Economics from the Faculty of Economics of the Catholic University. She has a wide international experience in the banking sector, mainly in Belgium Denmark, where she lived.

The new President of the Administration Board has held several positions at national and international banking institutions: leadership positions in the area of investment and corporate banking, business management and advisory, management of real estate and movable heritage, as well as in areas related to the Health sector.

Lúcia de Fátima Fraga Martins Crisóstomo holds a degree in Medicine from the University of Coimbra and has extensive experience in senior positions at several health units, including the Francisco Zagalo Hospital in Ovar, São João da Madeira Hospital and the Angra do Heroísmo Hospital.

José Pedro Leonardo Pires holds a Bachelor degree in Nursing from the Angra do Heroísmo Nursing School in 2001. In the following year, he finished the complementary Training year in Nursing. He also holds a postgraduate degree in Health Unit Management in the area of Health Policies and Public Health.

The new Director of Nursing has held several positions as Chief Nurse, Deputy Director of Nursing at Casa de Saúde do Espírito Santo, an institution run by the Instituto das Irmãs Hospitaleiras do Sagrado Coração de Jesus, among others. He has recently held the position of visiting assistant professor at the Angra do Heroísmo Nursing School.

Ana Margarida Teixeira Laranjeira holds a degree in Business Management and Organisation and a Master's degree in Public Management from the University of the Azores, in addition to several postgraduate degrees. She has held senior positions in the area of Financial Management in Public Administration and collaborated with the University of the Azores in teaching of the subject in Public Accounting.

The Administration Board was appointed by the Resolution of the Council of the Regional Government that will enter into effect on 1 February 1, 2015.
