Before these data, Domingos Cunha emphasized the gravity of the disease and the need, more and more pressing, of betting on the prevention, as soon as, detected on time and treated in the precocious phase, the rate of cure is around the 90 to 95% of the cases.

In this way, and following all the international and national technical and standard directions, the Government of the Azores has like priority for the area of the promotion of health, the program of organized investigation of the breast cancer that will begin on the next 17th of November, in the council of Nordeste, in the island of São Miguel, considering, the regional secretary that this action will be going to contribute, decisively, for the on time search and detection of the pathology in most of the women who live in all the islands.

According to Domingos Cunha, the organized investigation of breast cancer will be extended to the whole Regional Health Service, with the Health Centres of each council having a primordial role of logistic support and in the tasks of sensitization and mobilization of the users and the Hospitals in the execution of the checking appointments, attendance and treatment.
