The Science and Technology Park Association of Terceira Island promotes in Angra do Heroísmo a workshop on "Technology-based Entrepreneurship - AgroTECH" next Thursday, December 6, with the aim of raising the awareness of scientific and academic communities for entrepreneurship, technology transfer and innovation, namely in the agricultural sector.
 
This initiative intends to promote the activity of TERINOV - Terceira Science and Technology Park in the context of technology-based entrepreneurship, transfer of technology and innovation as the path to rejuvenate the Azorean business fabric and encourage the competitiveness of regional companies, through the optimisation of processes, business models and endogenous resources.
 
Disseminating the areas of action of the future TERINOV, especially the agricultural and technological sectors, is also one of the goals of this event. It involves the participation of national startups developing new business models for this traditional sector, namely the Wisecrop, Agroinsider and FarmCloud.
 
In addition to these startups, the event will include the participation of Terra Verde Association, which has been promoting the implementation of new technologies in farms on the island of São Miguel.
 
The initiative, scheduled to begin at 9:30 AM, will take place at TERINOV - Terceira Science and Technology Park and is addressed to higher education students and graduates as well as to companies and researchers from the University of the Azores.
