The deadline for submission of applications for financial support in 2018 runs until 31 October, according to a Regional Order of the Secretary for Education and Culture published in the Official Journal. The measure is aimed at the acquisition, remodelling, improvement, expansion and construction of infrastructures for cultural activities under the Legal Scheme on the Support to Cultural Activities (RJAAC).
 
This measure is directed to regional, national or foreign agents, individuals and collective persons that develop cultural activities with relevant interest to the Region and that meet access conditions established under RJAAC.
 
Public entities, namely municipal and inter-municipal companies, commercial companies organised under commercial law or legal persons under public law are not eligible for this support.
 
According to another Order issued by Avelino Meneses, also published in the Official Journal, it is determines the deadline for submission of applications for 2017 to support cultural projects, based on programmes or annual and biannual initiatives with relevant interest to the preservation, , promotion and cultural dissemination of the Region. This measure covers the artistic fields of audiovisual and multimedia, performing arts, visual, cultural heritage, other events and multidisciplinary programmes. The deadline runs from February 28 to October 31.
 
Moreover, there are also applications for the purchase of musical instruments and respective consumables, conservation, maintenance and repair of musical instruments, purchase of uniforms as well as the acquisition and restoration of costumes and repertoire for the implementation of cultural projects.
 
In turn, the deadline for applications to support the publication costs of cultural works runs from February 28 to June 30, while the applications for 2018 Carnival dances and "bailinhos" should be submitted between December 1, 2017 and January 15, 2018.
 
The Regional Secretary for Education and Culture has also set the period between February 28 and the end of October for the submission of applications under the Regional Support Programme for Recreational Societies and Philharmonic Bands of the Azores - SOREFIL.
