REDA meetings promote introduction to Japanese cinema

REDA # 8 Meeting, designated as "Tales of men and moons - Introduction to Japanese Cinema," will take place Saturday, April 21, at the Luís da Silva Ribeiro Public Library and Regional Archive in Angra do Heroísmo, a partner entity in the organisation of the event.

The meeting, scheduled for 5 PM, includes a lecture to be delivered by Miguel Patrício, a Japanese film expert. He will present the film "Ugetsu, Tales of Ugetsu" by Kenji Mizoguchi, while seeking to establish links with the book "Homens Imprudentemente Poéticos" by Valter Hugo Mãe.

This writer is the guest of the monthly session "Meeting with the Writer," an initiative promoted by Luís da Silva Ribeiro Public Library that starts at 3 PM.

In the context of these two activities, the photography exhibition entitled "Postcards of Japan" by Margarida Quinteiro will be on display at the library.

REDA Meetings are an initiative of the Regional Directorate for Education Directorate that began in the 2016/17 school year and is linked to the REDA (Open Digital Educational Resources) platform.

It has focused on the sharing and provision of quality educational contents as well as on the dissemination of good practices, innovative projects and creation of educational resources. It is taking a step towards the development of 21st century skills, namely with the progressive introduction of technologies into the classroom.

Acknowledging the relevance of the development of scientific and digital literacy, the Regional Directorate for Education has proposed the promotion of these meetings in order to contribute to the training of teachers and students, and the society in general.
