Angra do Heroísmo ,  September 30, 2015

World Music Day celebrated in Angra do Heroísmo

The Government of the Azores joins the celebrations of the World Music Day, celebrated on October 1, with two concerts in Angra do Heroísmo.

The "Sara Miguel 4Teto" group will perform at Tomás de Borba Basic Education and Secondary School at 12:30 PM. Organist Olga Lysa will perform a concert at Angra do Heroísmo Cathedral at 5:30 PM.

The "Sara Miguel 4Teto" ensemble emerged from the meeting of four musicians who collaborate with Angrajazz Orchestra. It was their desire to build a repertoire that would combine many styles such as jazz, blues, pop, "bossa nova" or Portuguese music.
The members of the quartet are Antonella Barletta (piano), Paulo Cunha (double-bass), Roberto Rosa (trumpet) and Sara Miguel (voice).

Olga Lysa holds a degree in Piano and Organ by the "P. l. Tchaikovsky" State Conservatory in Kiev, Ukraine. She started her concert career in 1980, performing as soloist.

Between January 1995 and September 2000, Olga Lysa was guest Organ teacher at the Regional Conservatory of Horta and resident organist of Matriz Chuch since the official opening of the organ on May 11, 1996.  Currently, she lives in Angra do Heroísmo, where she teachers Piano and Organ at the Regional Conservatory. She has been the resident organist of Angra Cathedral since October 2005.

The Regional Directorate for Culture informs that this and other events may be consulted in the Cultural Agenda of the CulturAçores Portal at the following address: www.culturacores.azores.gov.pt.
