Luís da Silva Public Library and Regional Archives promotes intimate concert "Love and Sea Songs"

The Luís da Silva Ribeiro Public Library and Regional Archives in Angra do Heroísmo presents Saturday, February 18, a journey through Azorean poetry with an "Intimate Concert - Love and Sea Songs" featuring BWF group - Bruno Walter & Friends.

During the concert, which begins at 9:30 PM, the BWF trio will present poems by Emanuel Félix, Natália Correia, Vitorino Nemésio, Antero de Quental and Madalena Férin, among others. The event is intended to celebrate love as the ancestral theme of Humankind, evoking Azorean literature through music.

BWF is composed of members Bruno Walter Ferreira, Paulo Cunha and Viorel Taranu. The group will have as special guests Sónia Pereira (voice), Rui Melo (saxophone) and Margarida Ferreira, who will read poems by Vitorino Nemésio.

The concert will offer the public a symbiosis between the best Azorean poetry and a musical group of undeniable quality; admission is free.

BWF - Bruno Walter & Friends is a unique music project developed by a singer-songwriter, with lyrics in Portuguese and English. They will also perform songs with lyrics by Portuguese poets and by some of most important Azorean poets.

Their musical influences are varied and combine fusion genres, ranging from traditional music to blues, "bossa nova" and jazz.

Created in 2010, the group performs as a septet or trio, depending on the concert theme. They have recorded a live CD at Angra do Heroísmo Congress and Cultural Centre in a concert that featured Angrajazz Orchestra as special guest.

The Regional Directorate for Culture informs that this and other events may be consulted in the Cultural Agenda of CulturAçores Portal at the following address: www.culturacores.azores.gov.pt.
