The Regional Directorate for Culture, through the Pico Museum, promotes the closing session of the documentary cycle entitled "Whalers of the World" at the Whaling Museum in Lajes do Pico on Thursday, December 7, at 9 PM.
 
This international film show about whaling since the beginning of the 20th century has registered good public adherence, with an average of more than thirty people.
 
A parallel initiative, aimed at researching, preserving and promoting local culture, shared photographs and videos, most of which are about the island of Faial. The collections made available were digitised and will enrich the image collection of Pico Museum.
 
This cycle, which ran throughout 2017, in partnership with producer Comunicar Atitude closes with an informal talk about whaling and the presentation of some of the most emblematic images presented under the initiative.
