The Regional Directorate for Culture, through the Luís da Silva Ribeiro Public Library and Regional Archive, in partnership with the municipalities of Angra do Heroísmo and Praia da Vitória will travel to the villages of Terra-Chã and Biscoitos during the month of July.
 
The "Itinerant Library" project will be held at the premises of the Village Council of Terra-Chã between July 2 and 30, from Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 12 PM and 1 to 5 PM. In turn, the Village Council of Biscoitos will host the project between July 3 and 31, from Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 12 PM and from 1 to 5 PM; there are evening sessions on Monday and Thursday from 7:30 to 10 PM.
 
With this project, the Library intends to be closer to citizens, providing the contact with the books and encouraging home loan.
 
The project intends to bring home loan services to the populations residing in the villages located in the municipalities of Angra do Heroísmo and Praia da Vitória with the aim of disseminating its advantages. It will allow elderly or people with reduced mobility to have equal access to the books available for home loan, upon request, and under the same conditions as those provided by the Library. In this context, the initiative stimulates the interest in books and reading, while making the community better acquainted with the library.
