"History of Art in the Azores" launched in Angra do Heroísmo and Horta

The Regional Secretariat for Education and Culture, through the Regional Directorate for Culture, promotes the launch of the work titled "History of Art in the Azores" during the first week of April in Angra do Heroísmo and Horta.

In Angra do Heroísmo, the work will be launched at the Luís da Silva Ribeiro Public Library and Regional Archive on Thursday, April 4, at 6 PM, while the Horta session is scheduled for the following at the João José da Graça Public Library and Regional Archive also at 6 PM.

These sessions will be attended by the Regional Secretary for Education and Culture, Avelino Meneses, the scientific coordinator of the work, João Vieira Caldas, and art historian, Nuno Senos, who will also make the presentation of the work.

It was already presented at the Ponta Delgada Public Library and Regional Archive in late February and at the House of the Azores of Lisbon in early March.

With the scientific coordination of Vítor Serrão, João Vieira Caldas and Delfim Sardo, this indispensable work of reference brings together three dozen articles by renowned specialists and researchers on the most varied fields regarding the art produced in the Azores between the 15th and 20th centuries.

The Regional Directorate for Culture informs that this and other events may be consulted in the Cultural Agenda of CulturAçores Portal at the following address: www.culturacores.azores.gov.pt.
