Government of the Azores promotes Flute Masterclass under celebrations of European Year of Cultural Heritage

The Government of the Azores, through the Regional Secretariat for Education and Culture, will hold a Flute Masterclass to be conducted by Marina Camponês and Nuno Inácio in Angra do Heroísmo between July 28 and 30 under the celebrations of the European Year of Cultural Heritage.
This initiative will take place at Tomás de Borba Basic Education and Secondary School between 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM and is open to all flute players interested in participating. It intends to provide equitable access to musical training to all musicians in the Region, regardless of their skills.
With the aim of improving the technical and artistic skills of musicians playing with philharmonic bands or studying at regional conservatories, this initiative is expected to leverage the development of the skills and performance of musicians and their respective bands in the medium-term.
The masterclass will end with a final recital to be held on July 30 at 7:30 PM. It will be open to the public in general.
Marina Camponês holds a Master's Degree in Music Teaching and a Postgraduate degree in Flue from the Catalonia College of Music, Spain. She is a member of the Lisbon Ensemble 20.21 contemporary music group and teaches flute and chamber music at the Metropolitana Professional School, Nossa Senhora do Cabo Music School and at the Lisbon Academy of Music.
Nuno Inácio, who is pursuing a Doctorate degree in Music Arts (performance), teaches Chamber Music at the Lisbon Superior School of Music and tutors the Flute Class of the National Superior Orchestra Academy. He has been the principal flute of the Metropolitan Orchestra of Lisbon since 2005.
