Carlos Machado Museum promotes second edition of FACA - Anthropology, Film and Art Festival
The Regional Directorate for Culture, through the Carlos Machado Museum, promotes the second edition of FACA - Anthropology, Film and Art Festival on São Miguel between February 16 and 20.
Jointly organised by the Carlos Machado Museum and the Agency for Territorial Cohesion (AGECTA), this initiative will also focus on the decentralisation of events. There will be sessions in Nordeste, Rabo de Peixe, Ponta Delgada, Maia and Sete Cidades.
The program features locally produced films, such as "Pão" (Bread) by André Laranjinha, the last episode of "Xailes Negros" (Black Shawls) by José de Medeiros and "Antigos Funcionários da Gorreana" (Former Gorreana Workers) by Carlos Machado Museum. It also includes a photography exhibition titled as "Anos 60, pelo olhar de Laudalino da Ponte Pacheco, o fotógrafo da Maia" (The 1960's from the perspective of Laudalino da Ponte Pacheco, the photographer of Maia) and a tasting of regional products held under the title "Calços" in Maia.
FACA - Anthropology, Film and Art Festival is an event organised by a group of people linked to the Visual Anthropology and Arts Centre (NAVA) at the Network Centre for Research in Anthropology (CRIA), whose mission is to explore the boundaries between research work and artistic creation.
The first edition of this event took place in Lisbon in March 2014 and was followed by a series of initiatives in various parts of the country, namely in the Azores.
In addition to the island of São Miguel, the 2016 edition of FACA will also take place on Faial, Pico and Terceira.
The Regional Directorate for Culture informs that this and other events may be consulted in the Cultural Agenda of the CulturAçores Portal at the following address: www.culturacores.azores.gov.pt.
