Azores Stand distinguished at 11th Iberian Cultural Heritage Biennial in Spain

The Azores, through the Regional Directorate for Culture under the administration of the Regional Secretariat for Education and Culture, was the second-place winner in the Heritage Internationalisation Prize 2018. The prize-delivery session took place at the end of the 11th Iberian Cultural Heritage Biennial, which closed Sunday in Valladolid, Spain.

The AR&PA Internationalisation Prize - Iberian Cultural Heritage Biennial, sponsored by the Junta of Castile and León and Spira - Heritage Revitalisation Agency is aimed at public and private entities participating in this Biennial through exhibition stands with internalisation potential for their products and services.

The voting was held by the public attending the Biennial, which registered more than 20 thousand visitors this year, and by a jury composed of representatives of the entities sponsoring the prize.

The Regional Directorate for Culture participated in the Biennial with an institutional stand that shared the graphic identity created for the European Year of Cultural Heritage with the aim of promoting the eight regional museums, the Corvo Ecomuseum and the Arquipélago - Contemporary Arts Centre.

Alluding to the "Islands of Culture" imagery, this common visual identity explores images related to the community, territory and landscape in coordination with various forms cultural expression, from literature to music without forgetting traditional arts and crafts.

The narrative begins with a selection of iconic pieces from each space, being complemented by various keywords that inspire and invite everyone to visit the cultural infrastructures.
