Presentation session of financial tools to support investment in the tourism sector takes place in Angra do Heroísmo

The Regional Secretariat for Energy, Environment and Tourism, in partnership with the Vice-Presidency and Tourism of Portugal, promotes holds today a public presentation of financial tools to support investment in the tourism sector at Angra do Heroísmo Cultural and Congress Centre.

The programme, starting at 2 PM, is divided into three themes that are intended to inform interested parties and provide them with knowledge about the tools they have at their disposal in the tourism sector, always in a perspective of improving the destination.

The first panel, under the title "Valorizar Programme," includes the presentation of the support line to the availability of Wi-Fi networks and the support line to accessible tourism.

The first line concerns the support to investments in Wi-Fi access projects to be implemented in historic centres and tourist areas, thus maximising the tourist experience and promoting the smart management of destinations.

The second line of support addresses the theme of accessibility, a concern that is becoming increasingly relevant in contemporary societies and, in this particular case, in the enjoyment of the tourist experience.

"Financial Tools for Supporting Business Investment in the Sector" is the theme of the second panel, which features the presentation of the Tourism Offer Improvement Line 2016/2017.

This credit tools aims to provide companies in the tourism sector with better conditions in the access to financing and runs until December 31, 2017. It favours investment in distinctive and innovative projects as well as in the upgrading of tourism developments in order to reposition them in segments with higher added value.

Under the third panel, titled as "Incentive Scheme for Business Competitiveness - Competir+", two lines of support will be provided for Creative and Qualified Entrepreneurship and Promotion of Exports. They are directed to projects related to the strengthening of housing structures, entertainment and promotion of tourism products and services.

This event aims to reinforce, once again, the qualification and enhancement of the destination, ensuring the effective dissemination of financial tools to support innovation and the consolidation of the tourism industry, which will foster the growth of tourism in the Azores.
