Isabel Rodrigues highlights importance of support allocated to youth associations

The Regional Assistant Secretary of the Presidency for Parliamentary Affairs stressed today in Lajes do Pico the relevance of the support allocated by the Regional Government to youth associations, considering that they serve as stimuli for active participation in society.

Isabel Rodrigues met with several youth associations and scout groups on Pico Island in the context of the Government's statutory visit to this island. According to her, support measures "are a very positive resource, not only as a stimulus to the education of youngsters, but as a driving force that allows them to develop a set of activities with beneficial result to the community."

The Regional Secretary also highlighted the importance of the activities carried out by these youth associations in the communities in which they live. In this context, the government official stressed that they are very important insofar as "youngsters end up taking tasks that are useful to their communities, which reveals that the far-reaching impact of these support measures goes beyond a mere allocation of funds."

Isabel Rodrigues also reiterated the Regional Government's commitment to maintain a "relation of proximity and fruitful collaboration" with youth associations.
