Praia da Vitória ,  May 02, 2018

Entrepreneurial education reached this year 3,000 young people and 45 schools in the Azores, reveals Berto Messias

The Regional Assistant Secretary of the Presidency for Parliamentary Affairs revealed today that the "Entrepreneurial Education: the Path to Success" is being developed in 45 regional schools in the school year 2017/2018, involving 3,000 Azorean students."

Berto Messias spoke in Praia da Vitória at the presentation of the conference that will be held in June under the title "Make it Happen Talks." The government official highlighted the important role played by this project over the last few years, revealing that "Entrepreneurial Education reached about 20,000 young Azoreans in the last six years."

"The Azores have nowadays a new generation more predisposed to actively participate in the construction of their future and the creation of business opportunities. However, above all, they have the desire to participate more actively in the construction of the future of the Azores in its multiple aspects. This is due to the programmes developed by the Regional Government to promote entrepreneurship," said the government official.

Berto Messias emphasised the importance of the "Make it Happen Talks" conference, considering "an important contribution to the assertion of an entrepreneurial and proactive attitude towards life that is not confined to a business perspective."

"What we want, what we support and what we aspire from a social perspective is the creation of public tools to promote an entrepreneurial and proactive attitude towards life and our community that is limited to the business field."

The Regional Secretary highlighted the link between the "Entrepreneurial Education: the Path to Success" project and the "Make it Happen Talks" conference. In this context, he noted that the "winning business ideas in the 'ideiAçores' regional competition, the final phase of the Entrepreneurial Education project, will be presented during the 'Make it Happen Talks' in Praia da Vitória."

The "Make it Happen Talks 2018" conference is supported by the Regional Government, through the Regional Directorate for Youth. It will bring 15 high-level speakers in entrepreneurship to Praia da Vitoria, who will present their ideas to an audience of about 500 people.
