Regional Government supports creativity of Azorean youngsters with over 35 thousands Euros

The Government of the Azores, through the Regional Directorate for Youth (DRJ), will support 30 projects under "Põe-te em Cena" (Get into Scene) programme, which corresponds to a global investment over 35 million Euros.

The assessment commission analysed 49 applications from five islands during this year's first meeting that was held in Ponta Delgada.

Of the 30 projects approved, 21 correspond to the allocation of new financial support, involving six youth associations and 15 individuals; the projects were submitted in the fields of performing arts, music, literature, multimedia and design.

While assessing projects, the committee took into consideration several criteria, including quality, cultural impact and visibility.

"Põe-te em Cena" is a programme that supports projects developed by youngsters or non-profit entities that develop projects targeted at youngsters. In the context of these projects, youngsters should take active part in their implementation and play a key role in order to stimulate their initiative, entrepreneurial skills and creativity.

This programme is developed into three actions that provide three types of differentiated support. In fact, "Action I" concerns the financial support to projects while "Action II" allows youngsters the access to cultural goods and equipment and, finally, "Action III" provides technical support to audiovisual and multimedia projects.
