Interjovem card presents partnership with NOS Açores, announces Pilar Damião

The Government of the Azores, through the Regional Directorate for Youth, in partnership with the Azores Youth Hostels presented today the second phase of the Interjovem Card, which now features more benefits arising from the new partnership with NOS Açores.

For the Regional Director for Youth, the new partnership "evidences the effort" of the Regional Government to "enhance" the Interjovem Card, which has become "a particularly important tool that goes beyond the support to mobility."

"Today, the card is a tool that stimulates the autonomy and empowerment of youngsters," stressed Pilar Damião. In this context, the government official added that, in addition to promoting "the multiplication of interpersonal experiences" and "contributing to the acquisition of new socio-cultural skills," the Interjovem card "has allowed Azorean youngsters a more equitable access to goods and services."

In her speech, the Regional Director restated the Government's availability to establish new cooperation possibilities in order to reinforce the benefits of the card, which has become a "vital tool to youth in general and to Azorean youngsters in particular."

Accordingly, she announced that, starting on October 1, card holders will be able to acquire the WTF card, a mobile phone card without membership fees and already includes a balance of 25 Euros; it features reduced fares and mobile Internet.

The offer includes, among other advantages, communication applications such as Whatsapp and Snapchat with unlimited traffic, 500 minutes of free calls and unlimited text messages to all national operators.

From October 1, Interjovem Card holders may call the number 16161 and provide their Interjovem Card information. Further information on this fare is available at www.wtf.pt.

In order to improve the Interjovem Card, the Government has established and renewed protocols with nearly two hundred entities across the archipelago in recent years, pointed out the Regional Director for Youth. The card offers discounts ranging from 3% to 100% and covers the following sectors: Hotels, Restaurants, Health and Well-being, Fashion, Transport, Sport, Culture, Tourism Leisure, Banks, Communications and Air Transport.

The Interjovem card is targeted at youngsters aged 13 to 30. It aims not only to promote mobility and youth tourism, but also to offer various discounts, through its main partnerships, namely with BES Açores, SATA, Atlânticoline, Transmaçor, JH Ornelas e Chamber of Commerce of Angra do Heroísmo, through the “Ofereça Açores” Card.
