The President of the Government highlighted today the contribution of a series of interventions in terms of accessibility to the economic development of Povoação in the context of planed public investments for this municipality, which include a new fire station.
 
"These are several interventions in Povoação that will provide a valid contribution to the municipality's economic development," Vasco Cordeiro said, adding that these interventions are ongoing or under discussion regarding the way they will be carried out.
 
Speaking after receiving in audience the new Mayor of Povoação, Vasco Cordeiro pointed out the example of the eastern entrance road, whose tender will be launched this year.
 
The Government will also launch this year the public tender for the construction of the new fire station in partnership with Povoação Humanitarian Association of Volunteer Firefighters, announced Vasco Cordeiro.
 
In addition to these investments, the President of the Government added that, in the case of Furnas-Povoação road, the Government will be able to present the solution for this road, after the conclusion of the environmental impact compact and further technical studies.
 
As for the access road between Furnas and Ribeira Quente, which has been the subject of an intervention for the consolidation of embankments, Vasco Cordeiro said there is still work do in this area, particularly in a section after the tunnel that has higher technical requirements.
 
"Following a constant exchange of information with Povoação Town Hall, we are able to provide information on the investments that are being implemented, the development of projects and the estimated calendar of implementation," said Vasco Cordeiro.
