Vasco Cordeiro highlights contribution of Youth Entrepreneurship programme for civic education of young Azoreans

The President of the Government praised the "Entrepreneurial Education" programme and the "IdeiAçores" regional competition, which has already involved around 20 thousand young people from all over the Region. Vasco Cordeiro highlighted the contribution of these projects to the construction of the personal and civic path of each participant.

"This is one the goals of the "Entrepreneurial Education" project involves the Regional Directorates for Youth and Education, taking into account that this is also a tool to provide young people with the skills to build our society and our future, said Vasco Cordeiro.

The President of the Government spoke in Ponta Delgada at the opening of the eighth edition of "IdeiAçores" regional competition, an initiative involving the participation of students from various regional schools. It is the culmination of another edition of the "Entrepreneurial Education" programme, which covered this school year about three thousand young people from 45 regional schools.

"The figures become even more significant if we think about the path followed by this project, having already involved about 20 thousand students in our Region in the last few years," said Vasco Cordeiro.

"It is essential that this be an opportunity for each of you to acquire the tools to build your future, not only in professional terms but also in their personal and civic path," stressed the President of the Government.

At the opening of this edition of "IdeiAçores," Vasco Cordeiro highlighted the contribution of the hundreds of teachers involved in these projects over the years, considering that "they are a fundamental to the motivation of participants".

Each edition of the "Entrepreneurial Education: The Path to Success" programme runs throughout the school year and includes the organisation of several initiatives related to entrepreneurship. It culminates in the "IdeiAçores" regional competition, which is based on the "learning by doing" methodology.

The eighth edition of "IdeiAçores" will take place in Ponta Delgada until Friday, May 11, bringing together students and teachers from the six islands that participated this year in the "Entrepreneurial Education" project.
