The President of the Government congratulated today athlete Rui Silveira from Horta Nautical Club for winning the national sailing championship in the Laser Standard category, an "important achievement that confers prestige to sport in the Autonomous Region of the Azores."
 
"This title has once again put the name of the Azores at the top in the national sailing competition scene, demonstrating that it is possible for regional athletes to stand out with the best national athletes in the most varied sports," stressed Vasco Cordeiro.
 
In the message of congratulations sent today to the athlete, the President of the Government expressed his belief that winning the National Laser Standard title "will give added motivation" for Rui Silveira to face the great sporting challenges that lie ahead in the near future.
