SATA adds flights to North America and launches new fare ticket system with reductions up to 57 percent, announces Vasco Cordeiro

The President of the Government, Vasco Cordeiro, announced that SATA will increase flight connection to North America, which will be also provided with a new fare ticket system that allows reductions up to 57 percent compared to the current prices. These measures fulfil the commitment made during his previous participation in the Holy Spirit Festivities in New England.

"I can now to announce that SATA, starting in the next IATA winter season, will reinforce its flight connections to North America by increasing the number of flights every month. We will have daily flights from and to Boston in the months of July and August," said Vasco Cordeiro.

In the speech delivered on Monday at the closing dinner of the Holy Spirit Festivities in New England that was held in Fall River, the President of the Government announced that "SATA will implement a new fare ticket system based on the supply of services (baggage and catering). This system allows a reduction in ticket prices that may vary between 16% and 57% compared to the prices in force."

"The Government of the Azores has taken into consideration the aspiration shared by many Azoreans residing here, who will now have the possibility of visiting the Azores at affordable conditions," stressed the President of the Government in his speech delivered before the 400 guests attending the dinner.

For Vasco Cordeiro, "distance should not be a barrier to a lesser involvement of Azorean communities in the planning and participation in the development of the Azores." In this context, the government official underlined that the Region will benefit "with the skills, knowledge and experience of the various sectors of the communities living abroad that have the skills we look for in others who do not know us, but with the advantage of having a more detailed knowledge of the Region and showing unconditional love to it."

In this regard, the government official stressed that "we live in difficult times that require creativity, knowledge and ambition to boost a new phase of growth and development for our Region as well as a new impetus in the relation between the islands and the Azoreans living abroad."

According to the President of the Regional Government, the successful integration of Azorean emigrants and their attachment to the roots and traditions of their islands "are the key pillars to continue building the common future" of the Azores.
