The Regional Health Authority informs that nine positive cases of COVID-19 were diagnosed in the Region, according to testing conducted by the two laboratories of reference in the Azores.

Seven cases were detected on the island of São Miguel and two on the island of Graciosa.

On São Miguel Island, the diagnosed cases correspond to four males, aged 27 and 64, and three females, aged 18, 27 and 56.

Five individuals belong to the same household. They had contact with a confirmed positive case and are within the sanitary cordon of Povoação.

The epidemiological context of the other two cases is under investigation.

On Graciosa Jorge Island, the diagnosed cases concern a 76-year-old male and an 80-year-old female, who have recently travelled abroad together.
