The Government of the Azores and the social partners in the area of agriculture agree with the goals that were established and that will be presented to the European Commission for the distribution of the 20 million-Euro reinforcement for the Azorean milk producers.

The measure was created in accordance with EU regulations; thus, the Regional Secretary for Agriculture conveyed his belief “that the measure to be proposed is able to succeed.”

According to the statements made by the Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and Forestry at the end of a meeting with the board of Agriculture Federation of the Azores, the 20 million-Euro reinforcement from the EU Commission should be “allocated to the dairy farms in order to reinforce their competitiveness.”
