The opening notice of the public tender for the upgrading of a section of the Regional Road no. 1-1, known as Pedro Miguel road, on the island of Faial was published today in the Official Journal. The intervention is aimed at the structural redevelopment and improvement of the road.
 
This project, whose project was presented during the Government's visit to Faial in June, will comprise the upgrading of the road section between kilometres 45 and 46 located in the village of Pedro Miguel in the municipality of Horta.
 
The project involves the construction of a new pavement structure as well as the reconstruction work of concrete footways and of the drainage system made up of surface ditches. Additionally, the contract work includes earthworks, drainage and paving works and the application of road surface markings along the section under intervention.
 
The contract work now launched by the Regional Government, through the Regional Secretariat for Transport and Public Works, will have a completion period of four months.
 
It has a base price of € 338,000.00, plus VAT at the legal rate in force.
