The Regional Secretary for the Economy, Vasco Cordeiro, welcomed, on behalf of the President of the Government, the Ambassador of Canada, Anne-Marie Bourcier, on Friday morning.
 
The audience for the exchange of farewell greetings took place at the headquarters of the Regional Secretariat for the Economy in Ponta Delgada.

During the meeting, the Regional Secretary for the Economy reiterated to the Ambassador the Government’s intention to strengthen the circuits of information concerning the citizens returning to the Azores by order of Canadian authorities to improve some aspects regarding their arrival and facilitate their integration.

Vasco Cordeiro also mentioned the increasing investment made by the Azorean Government in the promotion of the Azores destination in Canada, mainly, in the provinces of Ontario and Quebec through tourism campaigns designed to promote the archipelago, the reinforcement of accessibility and the establishment of contacts with tourism operators.
