To guarantee an effective sustainability in the offer of a product of animation, structured like referential element of the dynamics of search and of tourist offer of the islands of the Central Group, constitutes the main goal of the action plan to be developed by the Associação Regional de Turismo-Turismo Açores (ART) with financing of the Government of the Region.

The program of activities of the organism, which joins municipalities and chambers of trade and industry with activity in Terceira, Graciosa, S. Jorge, Pico and Faial as partners, is globally estimated at 800 thousand euros, extending its execution for two years.

For the achievement of the program’s first part, which the ART is committed to execute by the end of April of next year, the Executive of Carlos César made a financing for 400 thousand euros available, guaranteed by means of contract program established with the Regional Secretariat for the Economy.

In general terms, the Tourist Animation Strategic Plan for the Central Group intends to promote the supported development of the tourist activity in the included islands through the adoption of strategies that provide the enlargement of the period of permanence of the visitors and the reduction of the seasoning in the search.
