Government supported Regional promotion initiatives reaching up to one million Euros
The Government of the Azores has funded, in about one million Euros, seven dozens of initiatives, actions and events with a significant impact regarding the external promotion of the Azores as a touristic destination.
The information was provided by the Regional Secretary for the Economy when he signed in Ponta Delgada today several protocols with the Holy Christ of Miracles Brotherhood for the concession of public spaces at the Portas do Mar and the Fishing Port, as well as for a subsidy of 28 thousand Euros for expenses related to the Holy Christ of Miracles festivities that will take place next weekend.
According to Vasco Cordeiro, these figures demonstrate that “despite all known circumstances concerning the national and international economy, the Azorean touristic sector has been growing.”
The Secretary pointed out that a promotional campaign with the slogan “Pronto para o melhor tempo da sua vida?” (Are you ready for the best time of your life?) will be the launched in the national market in the coming days.
Regarding the protocols which were signed with the Holy Christ of Miracles Brotherhood, Vasco Cordeiro stated that these festivities are very important for the Azorean people, both by their religious aspect and by “the role that play in the promotion of the Azores.”
