On Thursday and Friday the Regional Government of the Azores, in partnership with Cooperativa Bioazórica, will offer a vocational training course on bio-agriculture entitled “Quality Control in Biological Production”, meant for producers or future producers and technicians from official agricultural services.
This is another initiative by the Regional Government intended to better inform farmers and other individuals working in the agricultural sector about recent developments in this field. It is meant to promote the acquisition of knowledge about bio-agriculture in the Azores and attracting the public’s attention to this mode of agricultural production.
The Azores are particularly well suited for this type of agriculture whose great advantage lies, also, in the optimisation of agricultural resources, reducing imported agricultural inputs and by the absence of fertilisers and synthetic pesticides.
The Regional Government of the Azores is, therefore, committed to promoting the productive and economical advantages of bio-agriculture in the agricultural milieu, demonstrating how it benefits the marketing image of Azorean agricultural products by relating them to the preservation of the environment and with quality of life.
