Candidatures to the dairy quota to make available by the National Reserve are open
Young farmers, from the Graciosa, Pico, Faial, Flores and Corvo islands and farmers with limits of production below 120 tons in a year will have privileged treatment in the attribution of the quantity of dairy production to be available for the Azores by the National Reserve in the 2008/09 campaign.
In the terms of a decree of the Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and Forestry, the term for presentation of candidatures to the reinforcement of quota as part of the availabilities of the National Reserve passes from today, being extended up to the 18th of December.
The candidatures take place in the services of Agrarian Development of each island, being directed to the Instituto de Alimentação e Mercados Agrícolas (IAMA).
In the diploma that establishes the rules of access to the quota available by the National Reserve, the Executive underlines the “purposes of the reinforcement of the quality of the agricultural produce of the Azores and in individual of the milk and of the dairy products”.
